When you are too young to act too old
When you are too rich to act too poor
When you have this much kinetic energy
But you insist on capping it
To gain favor from the old
When you act too mature for your age
As a trade in for your happiness
Woe unto you, as loneliness tramples you
As you are expected to show respect and maturity
As much is required from you; discipline and love
Your body needs reward for these
It constantly needs to stack up the depleted joy
That is constantly used up when giving out virtue
But hey, I know you have your mentor
One who has made it, tight with a serious face
And you want to be him or her in a day, but really?
They had their days and they would tell you how fun it was
They can very much tell you what happened back then
Their past time activities and peculiarities
Constantly reminding you that children of these days know no fun
Because they lived their lives to the fullest
So, do you want to transform your kinetic energy?
To a quest that you will die achieving
Day in and out with no play, striving to create a name, a figure?
Saying, “Well, am past that! Gotta better things to do.”
Or you wanna reward yourself with the gifts bestowed onto us on this planet?
Dear young man, why should you be too hard on yourself?
Again, someone said, “I so much wanted to reach at the top and when I finally did, there was nothing there!”
You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth says. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. Ecclesiastes 11:9
