What is Impossibility?
Everyone has got their own definition of impossibility. Impossibilities are simple statements like;
“These days there is no love. You cannot get a beautiful girlfriend or boyfriend who wouldn’t hurt you.”
“Whah! I cannot be like him, he is too smart. I am not”
“To get a wife these days, you require money.”
“I cannot be as rich as they are. They come from old money!”
“I cannot get a job in the government, you need someone who is politically connected.”
“If it were not for my uncle, I would not be here.”
Where do you think impossibility is taught? In schools? Schools teach you education is the key to success. Schools teach you that education’s roots are bitter but the fruits are sweet.
Impossibility on the other hand is taught in most ‘churches’ and that’s why even as you wed you will be taught to pronounce things like, “For richer for poorer, in sickness and in health and for better for worse!”
Why should you pronounce negative things upon your life? Why don’t they tell you to say, “For richer and richer or for better and better?” The Bible tells us that we move from glory to glory right?
From Glory to Glory
2nd Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
This is when one, deeply in religion, will defend themselves saying, “You know we shouldn’t also be oblivious of hard times. You know the devil is at work.”
I ask, is it our business to be concerned about matters of darkness? Aren’t we told that darkness cannot drive out darkness but only light does? Aren’t we also the light of the world?
It is sad heathens that will teach you about positive thinking, saying positive things about yourself etc. How many ‘positive’ self-development books do you know of?
Heathens will then prosper, they will amass all the wealth of this world, they will be free of illnesses and die at a good old age. Religious people will then wonder what kind of a God they serve and totally forget that they are the ones to live such beautiful lives and acquire the land of those heathens.
Psalms 105:43-44
He brought forth His people with rejoicing, His chosen with shouts of joy. He gave them the lands of the nations, that they might inherit the fruit of others’ labor
‘Christians’, those I refer to call frozen-chosens, will have negative sentiments like, ‘You know even Jesus suffered, you know we are supposed to suffer so that we may have eternal life, you know as a Christian you should suffer, you know God has to teach you humility. etc.’
Is it God’s will that you should suffer? Did Jesus suffer so that you can suffer more? Do you mean his death and suffering was in vain?
Isaiah 53:10 clearly states that:
But the Lord was pleased
To crush Him, putting Him to grief;
If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,
He will see His offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
Jesus was crushed, He was in grief and the Lord was pleased about it because He was the ultimate sacrifice for your prosperity. God doesn’t teach us humility in suffering. God is a gentle parent. You not need be poor or ill so that God may teach how to be humble.
God Doesn’t Need You To Toil
This is the most confusing topic in the world. People argue over this over and over again. So let me enlighten you or maybe confuse you the more with this simple statement:
“God doesn’t need you to toil, He needs you to reap. The toiling was already done for you.”
Let me affirm this with this verse:
Deutronomy 6:10-11
And when the LORD your God brings you into the land He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that He would give you–a land with great and splendid cities that you did not build, with houses full of every good thing with which you did not fill them, with wells that you did not dig, and with vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant–and when you eat and are satisfied
In short the above verse summarizes the famous Scripture of ‘a land flowing with milk and honey!’
David also notes in Psalms 78:55 that
He drove out nations before them and allotted their lands to them as an inheritance; he settled the tribes of Israel in their homes.
Now imagine you moving out of Kenya, a third world county, to a great and prosperous country where technology, infrastructure and systems are well built for you and to make it amazingier, if such a word exists, the people of that country become your servants. You simply go rule a land you never toiled for.
The Jebusites, the Perizzites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites and the Hivites were utterly destroyed. Some weren’t and they contaminated the children of Israel with their queer beliefs – same thing that happens today.
They still exist in the normal world still contaminating the world with their baals. Sadly, religion will in hush tones tell you not to speak ill about them because they are known for their enormous donations and handouts and in turn they are worshipped.
What they own is yours. What they control is yours. The wells they have dug are yours. The wealth they have amassed are yours and your work is to reap. Someone toiled for you. It is your choice whether to reap or not.
Where is Your Treasure?
The Israelites who came from Egypt all died and God had to put a new generation in the new land that God had promised them, a land where everything was toiled for them – simply because their forefathers were faithful to Him.
The Christians who came from bondage had Jesus as their ultimate sacrifice were set free. Jesus Himself assured them that it was over. That they will do greater things than Him – simply because the Son of God was faithful to the father.
So we no longer put our faith on that uncle who got us a job or that inheritance we acquired. We no longer put trust on our pensions, our jobs, the economy, future prospects or on our money because we have somewhere greater to put our treasures in.
Matthew 6:19-21
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
This verse is usually preached up to verse 20. Verse 21 says, ‘For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.’ Know why people will go to lengths to do all kinds of atrocities? It is because of where they have stored their treasures. If your treasure is in a vile place, you heart will be dark.
Where is your treasure? Where is your heart?
We thank our uncles, aunties, parents, siblings and friends but deep inside we should know that the Father used them to help us. At the end of the day, flesh and blood never made them help us, the father did. Credit (all glory, praise and honor) always goes back to God.
The story of the disciples – we are told that after amassing such wealth (a great number of fish that the boats were capsizing) they left everything and followed Christ. Why? Because they chose to store their treasures in He who multiplied fish not the fish themselves.
The problem with religion is that it will exalt man and demote God. It will cloud our worldview and create this haze that blinds us. It will give us this narrow vision that our actions control our future. God used prostitutes and murderers in the Bible and most ‘Holy’ people were just simply ‘perfect’ people; not necessarily used of God.
Most religions teach that being on earth is a suffering; a great punishment from God. At first it was, but things changed. God himself came to intervene and died for His creation so that His creation will no longer toil. Sadly, His creation, chooses to toil.
How Do You Become Prosperous?
Simple – Stop eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and eat from the tree of life.
Flee from religion and choose to hear from the Spirit of God who searches all things. The Spirit who searches even the deep things of God. The Spirit who will reveal to you all the mysteries of God.
Do you think flesh and blood made me write this? Do you know atheists know more Scripture than you do? It is not just in reading the Word but also in communing with the Holy Ghost. And the good thing is that you do not really need any theatrics done on you. You just need to desire.
1 Corinthians 14:1
Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
And you know what happens after you desire?
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. – James 4:8
Your double-mindedness will cease. Your vision will be sharp and you will no longer be a captive of the world.
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; – Jeremiah 29:12-14
Captivity is anything that is contrary to who God is. Is sickness captivity? Ask yourself, is God sick? Is poverty captivity? Ask yourself, is God poor?
You can do and be anything that you want to be in this world. This is because we do not rely on the power of man. Man is weak, a mortal being who owns nothing. Impossibility is a myth.
Are you sick? If you believe you are then you are.
“But I have body pains.” You may say.
Sickness doesn’t start physically, it starts spiritually. It starts with the view that you have of sickness. You have to get out of the ‘Let’s Be Real’ narrative and know that you are well in every aspect of your life.
Why do you think Jesus asked the lame guy ‘Do you want to get healed?’ This is because he only saw healing from the angel who came to stir the waters. He was seeing physically. It is time that you open your spiritual eyes because God is constantly asking, ‘Do you want to get healed? Healed of your sicknesses, infirmities and poverty?’
Joshua 1:8 says
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
Do you just listen to other people’s interpretation of the word? It is time to consciously think about what that verse means and how it applies to your life. Own it. Make it yours and deeply believe that it is meant for you. That is what we call meditation.
And to end with my all time favorite verse:
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.”
The true thing is that impossibility is a myth.
The noble thing is for you to be prosperous.
The right thing is to go against anything that is contrary to what the Spirit of God says.
The pure thing is seeking the Spirit of God, not the world.
The lovely thing is for you to live an amazing life free of painful toil; diseases, pain and suffering. He says His blessing has got no painful toil.
The most admirable thing is for you and your future generations to live a life of fullness, joy and peace.
What is excellent is what comes from the mouth of God.
What is praiseworthy is that which stands the test of time – the Truth that never shatters nor breaks. The Truth that sets free.
