The heart is deceitful yet contrite
It can be impertinent and unforgiving
Holding deep the pain of previous misfortunes
Swelling your veins from the bad blood you have with people
And your arteries with corrupt gain and treachery
“I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
At all times strive to make your heart pure
Free it from corrupt yearn and devious acts
“Love your Lord with all your heart” it is written
For from it flows all the springs of life
Do not lean on your own understanding
